My Totaled Car

I went by the salvage yard this afternoon and took a few pictures of my car. I had not seen the extent of the damage and I am so thankful that God had his hand on me and provided protection. Things could have been so much worse than they were.

Car Shopping

Kevin and I had been planning on purchasing a new vehicle at some point in the future. The future arrived sooner than we planned. Unfortunately I was involved in a car accident today and my car was totaled. Someone ran a red light and hit me. Luckily I wasn’t seriously injured. I am sore and my knee is pretty swollen. I probably will not be able to move in the morning. I did go to the Doctor and have a follow up appointment on Tuesday.

So, I guess the car shopping expedition begins. We were thinking about a van so that there would be room for all the extra items needed when transporting a child (car seat, stroller, diaper bag, etc.). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Girls Night Out

My high school gal pals and I got together for dinner on Thursday, April 24th. Not only did they treat me to dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s but we went back to Christy’s house where I was showered with more gifts for Evan. It is wonderful to know that friendships endure for a lifetime. We allowed ourselves to drift apart for awhile but a health crisis by one of the gal pals brought us back together and made us realize the importance of maintaining friendships. We now try to coordinate our schedules among work, sports, children, and spouses to get together at least every 3-4 months. The amazing thing is that no matter how long we may go between visits, we pick right up where we left off and always love to reminisce over the good, crazy, and bad times.

Thanks to my gal pals for everything. I love you guys!

Court Documents Submitted

We learned this afternoon that our documents have been submitted to the court. What happens next? The documents will then be assigned to a judge and he/she will review the documents and determine if any additional information is needed. The judge has 60 days to review our documents and set a court date. We will not know when the documents are assigned to a judge unless more information is requested or the court date is set. Please keep us in your prayers as we enter this next step and that we will soon get the call saying you have a court date.

April Showers

The saying goes that April showers bring May flowers. That is definitely the case for us only in a slightly different context. We were blessed with a baby shower on Sunday, April 20th (although we did actually have a major thunderstorm). It was hosted by my best friend Dennie Faye and the Wesleyan Women from church. We were so overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of our family and friends with the gifts for Evan Kirill. We have been so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives.
